Visit http://www.uslat.org for more information.

The Institute of International Business (IIB) of the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University has joined with top university professors and key business experts (Network Partners) in Latin America to establish the US-Latin America Trade Program (USLAT). Business opportunities and challenges in the Western Hemisphere require increased attention considering new free trade agreements concluded between the United States and individual Latin American countries or groups of countries, the potential of an eventual Free Trade Area of the Americas, and the global competition coming from Asia. This initiative aims at promoting research, consulting, and executive programs to improve competitiveness and managerial practices throughout the Americas.

USLAT’s Immediate Objectives are to:

  1. Deliver action-learning programs to Latin American entrepreneurs who want to develop business in the U.S. market.
  2. Serve U.S. firms seeking to source from or enter the Latin American market

USLAT offers tailored programs for each client built around the goals of:

  • -- Penetrating new markets
  • -- Locating appropriate investors and distributors
  • -- Developing strategic international business plans

In addition, based on company needs USLAT can link Latin American and U.S. firms to the other executive programs of the GSU Robinson College of Business including the existing portfolio of executive courses and the option of tailored products tapping the expertise of the Robinson faculty (almost 200 full-time professors) in all the major business disciplines.
