Gazi University President and Faculty Visitis with Georgia State University

A high level delegation from GaziUniversity in Ankara, Turkey paid a formal visit to GeorgiaStateUniversity recently. The delegation, led by Professor Riza Ayhan, President of Gazi University, met with faculty and administrators from several colleges. In particular, they held discussions with President Mark Becker and Associate Provost John Hicks regarding a long term exchange program for students and faculty. These discussions produced a productive agenda of future collaboration. Among other projects, GaziUniversity agreed to send successive groups of faculty to Atlanta, Georgia for professional development at GSU. Possibilities for student exchange programs as well as collaboration through degree programs were also discussed.
Gazi University, located in the capital city of Ankara, is one of the oldest and largest state-funded institutions of higher education in Turkey. The University bears the name of its founder, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
